Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet Image Sparks Fury

They were one of 2023's most shocking celebrity hook ups, and now Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are causing a stir online once again.

The love birds attended the Golden Globe Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday night, where they were caught on camera flirting and kissing.

However, some fans are still not convinced by the romance, and have cast doubt on the authenticity of the relationship on social media.

"This relationship is so forced," said @bardinator on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.

"Their chemistry is as fake as my ex's promises," agreed @justvanillaling.

"Something about them being together screams PR stunt & the works of Kris Jenner," wrote diana.

"I'm not one to accuse celebss of 'staging relationships' but this TO ME seems sooooo idk just off," commented josh.

"This connection feels contrived and unnatural," said Sita, while Mickey claimed: "She's only dating him so she could go to the Golden Globes."

However, other users defended the couple, with emilee saying "they're cute as f*** together."

"This is real and they both seem happy," said @lowkeypopstan.

"Glad they are still together," wrore Amga Lkh.

"People think he's acting but real fans know he's this awkward all the time," wrote Moose.

Newsweek has reached out to Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet for comment via email.

The couple were also the subject of further speculation at the Globes after Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Keleigh Teller were spotted having a private conversation that eagle-eyed viewers believe relates to Chalamet and Jenner.

The actor and influencer were rumored to be dating for months before breaking the internet in September, when they were spotted looking cosy during Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour.

However, a video of the couple at the gig sparked outrage, with the 28-year-old Wonka star filmed smoking inside California's SoFi Stadium. According to the venue's website, the stadium is a "drug-free and smoke-free" environment.

"What an entitled p**** smoking INSIDE THE STADIUM," said one social media user, while another wrote: "Smoking cigarettes at a Beyoncé concert?? Where is the class??"

Once the furor over Chalamet's behavior subsided, people were stunned by the unlikely pairing. Fans have wondered whether the Academy Award nominee is even Jenner's type.

The 26-year-old was in an on-off relationship with rapper Travis Scott for six years, splitting for good in January 2023. The former couple share daughter Stormi, 5, and son Aire, 23 months.

The beauty mogul also dated rapper Tyga for three years, appearing in two of his music videos.

Since rising to stardom as a teenager in the 2017 coming-of-age drama Call Me by Your Name, Chalamet has remained tight-lipped about his love life.

The Dune actor reportedly dated Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon, 27, while the pair were students at the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City.

He has also been linked to Johnny Depp's daughter, The Icon star Lily-Rose Depp, as well as Mexican actress Eiza González and filmmaker Sarah Talabi.
