How to Get Apricorn Balls in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Poke Balls are one of the most important items you'll come across in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While you can breed Pokemon, you'll first need to be able to catch those Pokemon. For some Pokemon, like Roaring Moon, this can be more difficult, which is why you'll need to rely on different types of Poke Balls.

Depending on where you are in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's story, you might only be aware of things like the regular Poke Ball, the Great Ball, and maybe even the Ultra Ball.

While these Poke Balls can work great, there are also special Apricorn Balls, which fall under different types. When used, these special Apricorn Balls can help make your life easier by allowing you to catch certain types of Pokemon more easily.

Types of Apricorn Balls

There are, in fact, several types of Apricorn Balls. These Poke Balls are generally named this because they are made by using Apricorns. Of course, these aren't to be confused with the normal Dive Balls or Net Balls that you can find throughout the various Poke Centers in Paldea.

Apricorn Balls, or ApriBalls as some call them, are actually much more difficult to get your hands on, and they will require quite a bulky wallet. The Apricorn Balls that you can purchase in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are:

  • Fast Ball
  • Friend Ball
  • Level Ball
  • Love Ball
  • Heavy Ball
  • Lure Ball
  • Moon Ball

Each Apricorn Ball has a special use, like the Heavy Ball, which makes it easy to catch Heavy Pokemon with ease, and the Love Ball, which catches a Pokemon of the opposite gender of your Pokemon more easily. The Friend Ball is especially handy if you're catching Eevees, as it will make them become your friend faster, allowing you to evolve the Eevee into one of its evolutions much more quickly.

Where to Buy Apricorn Balls

To buy Apricorn Balls, you'll need to make your way over to Porto Marinada, on the far western side of the map. Here you can take part in the Auctions, so long as you've returned Gym Leader Kofu's wallet as part of the Victory Road storyline.

The auctions start at 100,000 Poke Dollars, which is why you'll need to have quite a hefty amount of money before you go bidding on these special Apricorn Balls.

You can also earn them by completing the Academy Ace Tournament at your school, though that will take some time as it doesn't unlock until post-game. The good news is, you can always clone the Apricorn Balls you get if you don't want to spend more money on them, which is handy if you don't mind using glitches in the game to get ahead.
