How to Get Herba Mystica in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Herba Mystica are a new resource added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If you've played through any of the campaign storylines in the newest games, and defeated any of the Titan Pokemon that Arven asks you to go after, then you've probably come across these magical materials.

But you can also earn these items for use in your own sandwiches, allowing you to greatly increase things like your Egg Power (useful for breeding Pokemon), Sparkling Power (which helps increase the chance of Shiny Pokemon) and more.

But how exactly do you go about grinding for Herba Mystica? Well, the answer is actually quite simple, though the odds of getting your hands on these rare resources can change depending on which Pokemon you face off against. Here's what you need to know.

How to Farm Herba Mystica

As mentioned above, Herba Mystica can be farmed if you know what you're doing. The only way to farm or even collect these materials, though, is by taking part in end-game activities called Tera Raids. More specifically, players will need to take part in five-star and six-star Tera Raids, which are only unlocked after completing the Victory Road story, the Path of Legends story, and the Operation Starfall story.

Once you have unlocked five- and six-star raids, though, you can jump in and start grinding for Herba Mystica. One of the most prolific of the new resources is Salty Herba Mystica, which is used in pretty much every recipe you can craft to increase Sparkling Power greatly. This makes it one of the most sought-after, and coincidentally, it's also one of the most difficult to acquire.

There is only a 25 percent chance of a Herba Mystica dropping from a five-star Tera Raid. When you do a six-star raid, you have a higher chance of these items dropping, but the difficulty ramp between five- and six-star raids is immense. As such, you may want to focus on doing five-star Tera Raids instead, as they can be completed more quickly.

Additionally, if you take part in raids that center around the following Pokemon, then you can increase your chances of earning an Herba Mystica at the end:

  • Gengar
  • Blissey
  • Amoongus
  • Eelektross
  • Glalie
  • Drifblim
  • Palafin
  • Dondoze

These Pokemon have a chance to drop all five of the Herba Mystica, which you'll also find listed out below. What's more intriguing and worthwhile, though, is that they have a 75 percent chance of dropping the Herba Mystica. If you have Pokemon strong enough to take them on, you should absolutely focus on these types of Tera Raid events.
