How to Get the Lucky Egg in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The world of Paldea is massive and completely open to players once they've attended their first day of school and embarked on their Treasure Hunt.

If you're planning to explore the world, you're going to need a good party of Pokemon if you plan to come out on top. To do that, though, you'll need to constantly be leveling up your Pokemon, especially since the Pokemon and trainers around Paldea don't scale with you.

But, if you're playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and trying to level up quickly, you might be struggling. Luckily, there is something you can do to change that. You can equip the Lucky Egg.

When equipped on a Pokemon, the Lucky Egg allows players to farm more experience points for each battle they complete. Think of it like activating double XP for that particular Pokemon. It makes leveling up so much easier and faster.

But how do you get your hands on the Lucky Egg? Well, luckily, you don't have to jump through too many hoops to get it. You just have to progress a little bit into the game.

How to Get the Lucky Egg in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

By definition, the Lucky Egg increases the experience that a Pokemon earns in battle by more than 50 percent. This allows you to level up weaker Pokemon much quicker without having to put them into the battle itself. But if you want to grab this item, you're going to need to make your way through some of the Victory Road storyline.

This part of the game's campaign sees players working their way through multiple gyms and defeating the gym leaders along the way. Once you have defeated five gym leaders, Professor Jacq will meet you at your sixth gym and offer you the Lucky Egg. From here, all you have to do is give the Lucky Egg to the Pokemon you want to increase the experience for, and then head out and start farming Pokemon battles.

Of course, the Lucky Egg isn't the only useful item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Shiny Charm will allow you to increase the chance of catching Shiny Pokemon, and you can also make use of certain items like the Mirror Herb to skip breeding Pokemon for certain egg moves.
